Electric Lady Sessions was recorded over three days in January 2018 and released on 8 February 2019. Pitchfork heard two LCD Soundsystems: the studio one Murphy cooks up in private, and the live one, which it called a decentralized commune. Like London Sessions, this record puts the live band in a room without a crowd, and the review said the end of Emotional Haircut might be the heaviest the band has ever gotten, driven by Pat Mahoney's drums.

It collects twelve songs, nine from the repertoire and three covers: Seconds, I Want Your Love and (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang. It includes studio-live versions of I Used To, Call the Police, Home, Emotional Haircut and Oh Baby.
