Lonely Runs Both Ways

Gary Paczosa recorded and mixed it, and Doug Sax and Robert Hadley mastered it. Robert Lee Castleman wrote several songs, among them Gravity and Restless. The set also includes Del McCoury's Rain Please Go Away, Woody Guthrie's Pastures of Plenty, Wouldn't Be So Bad by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch, Jerry Douglas's Unionhouse Branch and Block's A Living Prayer. Block described the choice of songs and the style as "pretty much... what we've always done", and Krauss said the group was probably the most unprepared it had ever been for an album, with songs chosen as needed. Larry Atamanuik plays drums on some tracks.

At the 2006 Grammys it won Best Country Album, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for Restless, and Best Country Instrumental Performance for Unionhouse Branch. A Living Prayer won the Gospel Music Association's Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year. The album reached number 29 on the Billboard 200 and number 6 on the country albums chart and was certified gold.
