All My Friends was the second single from Sound of Silver, released on 28 May 2007. It reached 41 on the UK singles chart. It is built on a repetitive piano melody in A major that grows in volume and dynamics through its length. Murphy played vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitars, keyboards and electric percussion.

The video, directed by Tom Kuntz, is a single shot of Murphy in face paint, with Nancy Whang and Pat Mahoney appearing in mirrors behind him. The single's B-sides carried covers by Franz Ferdinand and by John Cale, and Franz Ferdinand's version also appeared on the EP A Bunch of Stuff on 18 September 2007. Baths, Tokyo Police Club and Gang of Youths have also covered it.

Pitchfork named it the song of 2007 and second among the top 500 tracks of the 2000s. Time placed it fourth among the best songs of 2007, Guardian Unlimited readers chose it as the best single of the year, and Rolling Stone ranked it 87th on its 2021 list of the 500 greatest songs. It closed the Brooklyn Steel show of 21 December 2017 and the Hollywood Bowl show of 5 May 2018. London Sessions carries a 7:30 version. It was used in the trailer for the 2024 film IF.
